Is NO OUT THERE Narcissism and Solipsism?

Join the conversation on the show today and answer the question:  Is NO OUT THERE Narcissism and Solipsism?  NOON CST TODAY (1pm-EST, 11am-MST, 10am-PST) online at

www.blogtalkradio.com/nooutthere and/or CALL-IN to 646-716-9798.

It’s bound to be a lively discussion with my Special Guest Shelley Amdur of Cycles, my friend, my teacher, a coach, a sensitive and a metaphysical teacher in her own right.

Here’s an excerpt from the e-mail Shelley sent me consenting to be on the show:

“I think I should say clearly before we get into this, that I regard the process of NO OUT THERE as a useful therapeutic tool, or process of self-transformation. We can only change ourselves and our inner landscape and that then is reflected, as you say, in the outer world.

However, philosophically, I disagree with the interpretation that “really is no out there, out there; what’s in my life and what shows up in my life is a reflection of me; I have created and create everything that is in my world, 100% responsibility, etc.”  I regard that philosophically as narcissistic and solipsism* .. . we should have a conversation soon about this, if you want me to speak on your show.”

My reply:  “Shelley,

. . . Your take on it is GREAT!  AND we can discuss where you disagree on air.  Controversy is good.  That’s what it says in the blogtalkradio handbook page 10.  It says ‘Work into every show controversial, intriguing, or engaging questions…”  Differing perspectives are good I think.

So join us as we have the discussion LIVE TODAY, October 24th, at NOON CST (1pm-EST, 11am-MST, 10am-PST) online at www.blogtalkradio.com/nooutthere and/or CALL-IN to 646-716-9798.

If you missed last week’s show, with Gary Jones Harris, of Shu-Ha-Ri Legacy (www.shuharilegacy.com) give it a listen at:  www.no-out-there.com/radio as he tells of his journey, which began when Gary was 9-years of age, and had him develop his own martial arts style around the philosophy of self mastery through (S.E.D.E.) Self Empowerment Divine Endowment which means we can empower ourselves because God has made us able.

I look forward to hearing your viewpoint at NOON CST TODAY (1pm-EST, 11am-MST, 10am-PST) online at www.blogtalkradio.com/nooutthere and/or CALL-IN to 646-716-9798.

“. . .how can you continue to see the world as real if the self that is determining it to be real is intangible? Ramtha

*Solipsism (Latin: solus, alone + ipse, self) is a philosophical theory that everything is in the imagination, and there is no reality outside one’s own mind. As a philosophical theory it is interesting because it is said to be internally consistent and, therefore, cannot be disproven. But as a psychological state, it is highly uncomfortable. The whole of life becomes a long dream from which an individual can never wake up. Even friends are not real, they are a part of the dream. A person may feel very lonely and detached, and eventually becomes apathetic and indifferent

Solipsism is the philosophical idea that “My mind is the only thing that I know exists”. Solipsism is an epistemological or metaphysical position that knowledge of anything outside the mind is unjustified. The external world and other minds cannot be known and might not exist. In the history of philosophy, solipsism has served as a skeptical hypothesis.

A skeptical hypothesis is a hypothetical situation that raises doubts about knowledge.
