INTRODUCING: The Summit Service Station

There‚Äôs a Summit Service Station starting here in Chicago. It’s purpose is to get together with like-minded people.

Claudy Chapman, a participant and now Facilitator, with The International Black Summit wanted a way to continue the conversation here in Chicago between Summit events. His intention is not only getting together with Summit participants, but to expand the conversation by 1), inviting others who may not have attended any Summit event, yet they are kindred spirits, like-minded individuals, and by 2) having everyone share movies, books, games, audio and video materials which may have similar topics and themes as the Summit.

Why is it being called a Service Station – I think because many people who have attended the International Black Summit say they go there to get replenished, to plug into that energy. I know at times I leave the Summit feeling energized and empowered, ready to take on the world again. You can ask Claudy what he meant by that name.

Here’s what we’re looking to do at the Summit Service Station:

  • Engage in insightful, provocative conversations,
  • Train ourselves in how to use the Summit distinctions in our lives.

Our first gathering is:

Saturday, December 8th

George Cleveland Hall branch

Chicago Public Library

48th & Michigan

10am – NOON

Here’s a way to “plug-in” to that energy and carry it into the Holiday’s with you!

Please RSVP by replying to this e-mail with a YES or NO ASAP.
