Are You Struggling With A Low Body Image?

Unfortunately, there seem to be more people who dislike their bodies than people who like their bodies.

 

There are many misconceptions about what low and high body images are. To have a high body image you don’t need to love every part of your body. You don’t have to adore every square centimeter of your skin. However, you need to accept your body. You may think that there is room for improvement every here and there, but you can still accept your body as it is and feel comfortable about it.

 

If you have a low body image, on the other hand, you believe that there are some parts of your body that could look better AND you feel bad about this.

 

Image two people who both think that their noses are too big. The first person has a low body image and feels that her big nose makes her value as a person lower than it otherwise would be. She feels that people will be less attracted to her because of her big nose, and because of her big nose she feels less happy about herself. The other person has a high body image. She feels that her big nose is ok. She is still grateful for having a functional nose that she can use to breathe and smell. She doesn’t believe that her nose will make her less attractive to others.

 

What I’m trying to get across to you is that you don’t have to ignore all the parts of your body that you think could be improved. If you think that you have a bog nose, don’t try to avoid looking at it every time you see yourself in a mirror. See your body as it is and accept it. Even if all parts are not beautiful they are probably functional. Be grateful for having a body that supports you and protects you.

 

So what can you do if you want to improve your body image? Practise looking at yourself in a big mirror. Tell your reflection that you are wonderful. Thank each part of your body for what it does to you. For example, say “Thank you eyes for letting me see and enjoy all the beauty of this world” or “Thank you feet for making me able to move around as I like”. Practise feeling gratitude when you see your own body. This might be extremely difficult for you at first, so difficult that you will call it impossible, but with practise I promise that it will get easier.

Become A Record Breaker

This is my favorite strategy, because I love to set goals and break records. It keeps me motivated and focused on achieving more than I have already accomplished. If you are a record breaker, then you can never become complacent.

What is your personal sales record? What is the most that you have ever earned in sales? Write it down right now. Now, what’s your record breaking goal? Write that down. Also, write down when you want to accomplish that goal. Now, put that record breaking goal and the date in front of you so that you see it everyday. Let me give you the three steps that will guarantee that you will break the record.

First, you must know it in order to break it. Sales records are developed, recorded in the books and then broken. Someone in your sales organization, business or in the same industry is the top earner. Find out what their check is per month and set a goal to break it. I broke records in every single network marketing company that I was involved in. How? I set the goal of being the top earner and the date of when I would achieve it. I got focused and did it!

If there’s no one for you to compete with in your industry, then strive to beat your own personal record. What is your personal sales record? What’s the most you ever earned? If you’re an independent contractor, what’s the highest 1099 filed? Find it out. Look at it, cross it out and commit to breaking that record. This works for anyone in sales and marketing.

Secondly, you must own it. Create a check of the exact amount that you want to earn by a certain date and put it somewhere so that you can see it everyday. One of my students wrote out a check for $7,000 and dated it three months out from that date. She posted a copy of that check everywhere so that she challenged herself everyday to break that record. She actually earned a check that was seventeen percent more than what the amount was on that check. Take action today and write down the exact amount you want earn 90 days from now.

Thirdly, understand that records are made to be broken. When Roger Bannister broke the four-minute mile, within the next three years over twenty other people did it too. What happened? Did legs and feet get different? No. The mind believed that it was possible. Because one person did it, everyone else knew it was possible. Well, guess what? You can do it too. Find out the record numbers in your company or within your own sales and commit to breaking them by a certain date. You can do it! Don’t let any tell you that it’s impossible.

I’m in full agreement with you that you CAN break records. There is no doubt about it! Just set the date and break the record. Go for it!

Relaxation

Are you rushing and feeling beaten down or discouraged by life?

How do your shoulders feel? Are your shoulders carrying burdens?

Yours or someone else’s?

Does time rule you?

Do you feel like you do not have enough hours in the day?

Do the positions of your clocks hands push you into thinking you must rush along to get everything accomplished?

Enormous amounts of energy get expended by trying to keep up with time and thinking you need to accomplish everything yourself. The Angels are showing me that when you live in this mentality, you cast yourself in tension.

Similar to a plaster cast coating your body – it gets hardened into a dense shell. Sometimes when you have been hurt, you think this structure will protect you. Even though the angels are beaming love and support to you, you will not feel it when these structures are in place. They may keep out fear or other feelings, but they also keep out your guidance and love.

I noticed rushing and feeling a lack of time happening for me over the past few weeks. My business has been booming and I have been engaged in a lot of travel. The more I focused on how much I had to do, the tighter my body felt and time seemed to constrict on me. I started to feel aches in my neck and shoulders. I could not hear my guidance very clearly and I started to become irritable.

The angels kept saying “Relax”, and my mind kept saying I will relax when I have finished everything. How many times do we think this: I will finish my to-do list or look after the kids and relax when I am all done.

The angels are urging you to re-think this and bring a mentality of relaxation into every thought, spoken word and every thing you do. Your muscles will start to unwind, you will be able to connect and receive guidance, along with feeling more joyful and free.

One of the biggest keys to connecting to your Angels and guides is through relaxation. When you relax, your breath gets deeper and your heart and mind are open to receiving. This connection allows you to access your guidance.

Exercises



1. For one day, practice moving slower, eating slower, breathing deeper, and how about driving slower? We have all been behind a driver that tailgates us, over takes and then are slowed down by another driver, maybe saving 3 seconds.

2. As you read this, take a deep breath, and as you exhale, allow any tension to leave your body. Let your scalp, forehead and face relax, continuing this through all parts of your body.

Did you notice you were holding tension any where? If you are holding on with your body you can guarantee you are holding on with your mind.



3. Each day, ask your Angels and Higher Self to assist you with a mentality of relaxation and letting go.
